Duane Albro is the CEO of Squan, a private equity-owned national engineering and construction firm that specializes in designing and building both wireless cell sites and fiber-optic cable in the telecom network infrastructure.

Previously, he was CEO of Albro, Inc., a global consulting group, providing strategic consulting services to private equity firms and investment banks of all sizes, ranging from top ten investment banks to boutique investors.

Duane is an experienced technology CEO, with special expertise in turning around troubled companies. Recently, he was CEO of Alteva, a New York Stock Exchange-traded company where he led the transformation from a regional telephone company into the ninth largest cloud communications company in the United States.

Other CXO roles have included Refinish, a Texas-based cellular phone refurbisher; Cablevision, a metro-NY cable TV operator; Net2000 a Northern Virginia-based telecommunications service provider; and at Verizon and its predecessor companies. Duane has also served as Chairman of the Board and Director of Lakeland Industries, a NASDAQ-traded company that manufactures and sells industrial protective clothing globally.

Duane has been active in supporting the positive impact of technology used in education, having served on a White House National Advisory Council on Technology in Education, provided testimony to the U.S. Congress on the benefits of technology used in education and having served on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – Technology and E-Commerce Committee. In the past, he has also served on the boards of New York Medical College, New York Institute of Technology and the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor.  He has demonstrated his commitment to workforce issues as the Founder and Chairman of the Long Island Works Coalition, a major non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the available workforce for technology industries.

Duane served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant and including deployment during the Vietnam War.

Duane holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology.  He has also completed Executive Programs at the University of Virginia – Darden School and the University of Pennsylvania – Wharton School. He is a member of American Mensa Society.
