MyLinh Shattan is a writer and educator who is host, author, and producer of the TreeHouseLetter, a website and podcast that offer insights on literature, education, the military, and other related topics. Her writing has also been published in a diverse body of newspapers and magazines.
In addition to professional writing and content production, MyLinh has taught at Queens University in Charlotte, NC and St. Petersburg College in Tarpons Springs, FL. She has a human resources background in the pharmaceutical industry and multi-plant industrial relations experience in manufacturing.
MyLinh served as an Army officer at the end of the Cold War and is proud of her Airborne and Air Assault training, where she developed a special affinity for military aviation. Her father Donald Brewster, the last U.S. Cultural Attaché to South Vietnam, was rescued by helicopter along with U.S. Ambassador Graham Martin from the roof of the embassy during the Fall of Saigon.
MyLinh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences and Systems Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a Master of Business Administration from Florida Southern College, and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Queens University. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and they have three children in the U.S. Army.
